Bolney Ward MDSC By-Election Thursday 15th September 2022

Introducing our Labour Candidate Andrew Foster

Andrew promises Bolney Ward something new, and long overdue, on our Mid Sussex District Council from Thursday 15 September. With your vote, he’ll be standing up and speaking out for people across the ward.

Delivering for the Community

Andrew says, “I’ve lived in our ward for many years and have served it as a parish councillor. I know the key issues that concern people here and, as your District Councillor, I will be working vigorously on your behalf to resolve them. I have been proud to serve our country in the Army and I am continuing to serve as a trustee of an ex-services charity.”

Let Andrew tell them on MSDC

He’ll only have eight months before the May MSDC elections to mark his mark – And he will…

Doing things better on our District Council

From Andrew’s lifelong experience of practical achievement through teamwork he will use these skills in support of your needs:

  • Thoroughness, securing value for money
  • Meaningful, timely consultation with all
  • Encouraging a team approach
  • Scrutiny and accountability
  • Good governance

Andrew has served Bolney before as a parish councillor, and contributed to the development of the Neighbourhood Plan.

He listens to people, considers solutions, and then acts decisively.

Andrew says, “I will act as your voice, calling to account and scrutinising decisions made by the Council and other elected bodies”.

Stronger Together

Andrew’s priorities will focus on these key concerns:

Security – We need a visible police presence and we must combat the spread of illegal drugs that blight young lives

Safety– Whenever major installations, such as the Battery Farm, are proposed we must have proper consultation and a strategy for mitigating risk to the community

Environment – We should be passionate about supporting the transfer to green energy in a safe manner. We should be planning considerately for housing which matches our local needs

Jobs – The spread of rural ultrafast Broadband is vital to encourage people to work from home and create new local enterprises

Roads – Congestion on the A272 and in our villages, and dangerous junctions must be addressed urgently. The needs of local people must always be a top priority in local planning.
