Mid Sussex Labour Party and friends were delighted to welcome Peter Kyle MP to speak at a well-attended and very optimistic event at the Ardingly Inn near the heart of our Constituency. Peter Kyle has been the MP for Hove since 2015, and is now the Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

In a very upbeat message to the people of Mid Sussex, Peter saluted the leadership of Sir Keir Starmer in transforming Labour into ‘being the only Party where the public needs us to be’ for the challenging times that lie ahead.

‘In the Shadow Cabinet, and across the whole Party, we feel the very real burden of responsibility that comes with this,’ said Peter, ‘And in the months to come we must have a razor-like focus on demonstrating our ability to lead the country into a more prosperous and secure future.

‘We must never forget that the public’s priorities must be our priorities. When we knock on doors in Mid Sussex, we must respect the views of all residents and explain how we intend to go for growth driven by the green agenda, whilst transforming the NHS, taking accountability for transport networks and building back our public services.’
